Akari's Story

Akari was born amidst the roar of waves and the scent of salt and gunpowder, her childhood shaped by the ruthless dealings of the Confederate pirates who ruled the Red Sea. Her parents, hardened by years of maritime plundering, taught her the fundamental law of survival: wealth was power, and power was everything. Her father, a master of the rapier, taught her the swift and precise art of swordplay, while her mother, a formidable mage, gifted her with the secrets of magiks.Yet, the most valuable lesson they imparted was that true riches lay not in the hoarding of treasure alone, but in the ability to manipulate and negotiate, to convince others to toil on their behalf.

It was through them that she learned to hone a silver tongue and carries a mischievous glint within her eyes, one that promised both trouble and opportunity.As she came of age, her ambitions outgrew the confines of her parents' lifestyle. The West called to her, a land of trade, wealth, and endless possibility. With dreams of acquiring untold riches, she set sail toward Limsa Lominsa, the beating heart of villainous commerce.However, fate had other plans. A fatal miscalculation, sharing drinks too freely with the wrong crowd, left her at the mercy of a mad scientist.

She awoke in a cage, her body aching from unseen wounds. The man, an exiled Garlean scientist, sneered down at her, eager to test his corrupted crystal experiments on a living subject. He saw her not as a person but as an anomaly to be dissected, his twisted fascination pushing her to the brink of death. The prolonged exposure to his torturous experiments warped her very being, her once cream-colored scales paled into hues of icy blue and white, her raven black hair lost its darkness, turning into a ghostly silver, and her piercing eyes reflected the frozen torment she endured.

As she hovered between life and death, salvation came in the form of a man named Aki. A Viera warrior with a personal vendetta. He had been tracking the scientist, seeking revenge for being aligned to party responsible for the destruction of his village and the murder of his brother at Garlean hands. He found her, broken and barely breathing, amidst the wreckage of the scientist’s hideout, where his vengeance had left nothing but ashes. He carried her to his camp, tending to her wounds while sharing the grief that drove him forward.When her strength returned, so did her resolve. The experiments had changed her, not only in body but in power. The corrupted crystals had altered her Aether, granting her an affinity for ice-aspected magiks. With the scientist dead and her torment behind her, she was left with a choice: to wallow in suffering or to use this transformation as a tool for her ambitions.Akari, ever pragmatic, chose the latter.

She took Aki’s coin, flashing him with a grateful yet knowing smile, and used it to book passage once more to Limsa Lominsa. The city, bustling with merchants and cutthroats alike, became her playground. She apprenticed under a master salesman, learning the nuances of persuasion, deception, and reading people with unnerving accuracy. Her years of study bore fruit as she soon was no longer just a student but a master of the craft, her words as sharp as her father’s blade and as enthralling as her mother’s magiks.With her new skills and a newfound control over her ice magiks, she carved a name for herself. Whether through trade, manipulation, or carefully orchestrated schemes, Akari sought one thing above all else, wealth beyond measure, enough to make even the richest lords of Hydaelyn bow to her cunning.For in the world she had been born into, power belonged not to the strongest, nor the most righteous, but to those who could convince others to do their bidding. And Akari was determined to be the absolute wealthiest of them all.

Hello! I'm Minnie, and no not the mouse I just had a random moment of thinking baby pandas were cute so that's what I went with lol. I enjoy role-playing (obvs) and like to do creative writing of any kind, I've been doing RP on FFXIV for a few years now as well as dabble in some art and other creative outlets.I rely heavily on OOC communication to make sure we are both on the same page and gather a general feeling on how you feel about the RP at times. At times I can be slow to respond if we decide to us Discord for the majority of the RP during the weekends, leaving me to respond mostly in the mornings before work (and sometimes during when things are slow).I do try and responsed within a few days at the most. As always you are more than welcomed to end the RP at anytime and there won't be any hard feelings, we all have our preferences and might want things at a faster pace! That being said, IRL comes first to me above a game and RPs, so if something happens that will keep me away longer than normal, I'll do my best to respond and keep you in the loop. I enjoy doing RP In-game as well ofcourse but scheduling may be difficult at times and would need to be planned out ahead of time!When it comes to romance of any kind involving the RP, it's heavily dependent on my own personal tastes in the character as well as how the overall story is being developed between the characters.
